Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesD+ FutureA+
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Bears.

For all the boxes ticked, the Bears skipped the loudest one: interior defensive lineman is exactly as bare as it was.

However the rest shakes out, Paul at that price is a win they earned. The Saquon Barkley deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Marvin Harrison Jr.
In pick No. 4 they get a matchup problem out wide. A real need, handled.
Pick37 Rnd2 Nate Wiggins
Nothing to complain about; Nate Wiggins went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick54 Rnd2 Patrick Paul
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Patrick Paul at the 54th pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick68 Rnd3 Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens at the 68th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick104 Rnd4 Max Melton
Nice patience on Max Melton, who had no business lasting to Round 4, Pick 4. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick132 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott in pick 132 lands just on the right side of the ledger. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick141 Rnd5 Darius Robinson
A straight-up fair deal on Darius Robinson at the Round 5 slot, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
