Boke DRAFTING FOR THETexans

Draft Grade — Texans

FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Texans and Singleton: B. The Texans spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Nicholas Singleton, the No. 102 name on the board, in the Round 5 slot. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
Sheppard has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick20
Rnd1
Tre Harris
They paid sticker price for Tre Harris in pick No. 20, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick52
Rnd2
Emeka Egbuka
Emeka Egbuka at No. 52 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick84
Rnd3
Ajani Cornelius
They reached into another round for Ajani Cornelius, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick121
Rnd4
Jake Majors
Circle this one: Jake Majors at Round 4, Pick 20 is a fall that decides a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick164
Rnd5
Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton in slot 164 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick236
Rnd7
Will Sheppard
Will Sheppard in the Round 7 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
