The Cowboys lost the trade table, and the D tells the story.

Nobody else had Jimmy Horn Jr. anywhere near pick No. 209. The Cowboys did, by 98 spots, and that gap is the whole story. Put together, it is a D.

They banked enough surplus on Singleton to cover a lot of smaller sins. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere.

Spending an early pick on safety with cornerback and tight end open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
