The Bears let Styles fall into their laps, and walked away with a A-.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bears were there to profit. Sonny Styles, the No. 127 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 202nd overall pick. A near-flawless weekend of work, and a A- to cap it.

They will need Caldwell to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own.

Add it up and few war rooms did better this weekend, James Pearce Jr. and all.
