A solid, sensible weekend for the 49ers: B. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The 49ers did exactly that with Chase Bisontis in pick No. 91.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. The trade work was a quiet net positive.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
Good work on the whole, with running back the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Denzel Boston
In the 26th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick35
Rnd2
R Mason Thomas
They did well to land R Mason Thomas in the 35th pick, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick91
Rnd3
Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis at Round 3, Pick 27 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
