Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall

The Commanders let Brown fall and pounced. Final grade: B-. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Commanders were there to profit. Logan Brown, the No. 144 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 205.
They are betting Winston Jr. proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The Commanders indulged a want in Winston Jr. while a need in tight end, cornerback and other spots stayed open.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Nick Emmanwori
In pick No. 29 they get a ballhawk on the back end, and a steal at that.
Pick61
Rnd2
Kevin Winston Jr.
Of all the spots to shop, they chose safety. Kevin Winston Jr. in No. 61 leaves tight end, cornerback and other spots for later.
Pick128
Rnd4
Antwaun Powell-Ryland
Antwaun Powell-Ryland at pick 128 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick205
Rnd6
Logan Brown
They robbed the room for Logan Brown here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick245
Rnd7
Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa in slot 245 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
