Draft Grade — Giants
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A passer of the future in Ward, and a B-, for the Giants.

Somebody in Round 4, Pick 33 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Giants sat still while TreVeyon Henderson, the No. 60 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

So much rides on Cam Ward that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They went 6 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In the 3rd pick they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick34 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant at pick 34 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick65 Rnd3 Dylan Fairchild
Nice patience on Dylan Fairchild, who had no business lasting to Round 3, Pick 1. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick103 Rnd4 Malachi Moore
A safety of that caliber at pick 103 is the definition of value, full stop. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick134 Rnd4 TreVeyon Henderson
You do not let a running back like TreVeyon Henderson reach the 134th overall pick and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick153 Rnd5 Danny Stutsman
Steal is underselling it; Danny Stutsman at the 153rd pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick219 Rnd7 Elijah Arroyo
Circle this one: Elijah Arroyo at No. 219 is a fall that decides a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick246 Rnd7 Garrett Dellinger
They took Garrett Dellinger at par in the Round 7 slot, which is nothing to complain about. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
