Draft Grade — Bears
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Bears bet the future on Williams. The board says D-.

Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Bears, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. The math is unkind, and the D- follows.

They have staked the next five years on Caleb Williams, which is the only story that really matters here. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They are betting Eguakun proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Adams falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, interior defensive lineman very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the 1st overall pick they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick9 Rnd1 Dallas Turner
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick47 Rnd2 Devontez Walker
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Devontez Walker. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick75 Rnd3 Johnny Wilson
They took Johnny Wilson at par in slot 75, which is nothing to complain about. The roster fit checks out.
Pick110 Rnd4 Audric Estime
Audric Estime at the 110th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick127 Rnd4 Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson at pick No. 127 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick143 Rnd5 Cam Hart
Cam Hart at the Round 5 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick145 Rnd5 Malik Mustapha
They did well to land Malik Mustapha in No. 145, just ahead of his grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick146 Rnd5 Isaiah Adams
Isaiah Adams in the 146th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick186 Rnd6 Kitan Oladapo
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kitan Oladapo at pick No. 186 is the proof. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick232 Rnd7 Kingsley Eguakun
They paid a round early for Kingsley Eguakun in No. 232, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
