Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Texans never addressed edge rusher, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Reaching for Roberts left real value on the table behind him. They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

In the 15th overall pick they get a plug-and-play piece up front, though they paid up to get him.

Kayden McDonald at Round 2, Pick 7 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

A reach on Jonah Coleman in pick 46; the board had better options right there. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
