Truckley45 DRAFTING FOR THERaiders
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall

FutureB-
The Raiders cashed the board's mistake on Klubnik: B. You build a draft on nights like this. Cade Klubnik had no business being available in the 114th pick, and the Raiders did the only sane thing and turned in the card. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
They will need Smith to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Spencer Fano
In the Round 1 slot they get protection for the quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick37
Rnd2
Garrett Nussmeier
They paid sticker price for Garrett Nussmeier in the 37th pick, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick68
Rnd3
Will Lee III
They liked Will Lee III enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 68. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick106
Rnd4
Zakee Wheatley
They barely believed it either: Zakee Wheatley still on the board at the 106th overall pick. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick114
Rnd4
Cade Klubnik
Circle this one: Cade Klubnik at No. 114 is a fall that decides a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick135
Rnd4
Austin Romaine
No drama and no debate, Austin Romaine went about where he belonged in Round 4, Pick 35. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick173
Rnd5
Darius Taylor
Darius Taylor at pick No. 173 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick182
Rnd6
CJ Daniels
CJ Daniels at slot 182 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick220
Rnd7
James Smith
This one needs a full-page explanation: James Smith in pick No. 220, miles early. It fills a real need, too.
