The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Packers watched Jahdae Barron slide 208 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

They will answer for taking safety early while quarterback and tight end went begging. They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
