Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Raiders found their guy under center in Mendoza: B-.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Raiders committed. Fernando Mendoza is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

On value alone, Allar makes the weekend a net positive. If Biles pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In pick No. 4 they get the face of the franchise, even if it was a touch early.
Pick35 Rnd2 Christen Miller
Nice patience on Christen Miller, who had no business lasting to the 35th overall pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick66 Rnd3 Colton Hood
By-the-book stuff, Colton Hood at Round 3, Pick 2 squarely in line with his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick104 Rnd4 Charles Jagusah
A wild overpay on Charles Jagusah in the 104th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick111 Rnd4 Blake Miller
Blake Miller at pick 111 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick134 Rnd4 Jalon Kilgore
A slide stopped in No. 134, with Jalon Kilgore worth more than the price. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick173 Rnd5 Kevin Coleman Jr.
Nothing to complain about; Kevin Coleman Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick181 Rnd6 Rasheem Biles
Rasheem Biles in the Round 6 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick185 Rnd6 Drew Allar
A quarterback of that caliber at the Round 6 slot is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick219 Rnd7 Raylen Wilson
Raylen Wilson at pick 219 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
