Js32000 DRAFTING FOR THEBills
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Bills
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Bills robbed the room for Perkins Jr.. Final grade: B. The board owed the Bills one, and it paid up: Harold Perkins Jr., the No. 129 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 5 slot like a gift left on the doorstep.
The Skattebo pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick29
Rnd1
Malaki Starks
In No. 29 they get a ballhawk on the back end, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
Pick60
Rnd2
Alfred Collins
By-the-book stuff, Alfred Collins at pick 60 squarely in line with his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick61
Rnd2
Denzel Burke
Denzel Burke at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick109
Rnd4
Danny Stutsman
You do not let a linebacker like Danny Stutsman reach the 109th pick and blink. They did not. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick130
Rnd4
Tory Horton
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick No. 130 is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick169
Rnd5
Harold Perkins Jr.
Harold Perkins Jr. at Round 5, Pick 31 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick172
Rnd5
Cam Skattebo
They jumped the gun on Cam Skattebo, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick176
Rnd6
Logan Jones
A straight-up fair deal on Logan Jones at slot 176, value and slot in agreement. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick204
Rnd6
Willie Lampkin
Steal is underselling it; Willie Lampkin at the 204th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick206
Rnd6
Jack Kiser
They did well to land Jack Kiser in the 206th pick, just ahead of his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
