Draft Grade — Patriots
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Patriots a B-.

The Bryce Foster selection is the head-turner. The Patriots reached 32 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

The Moss steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 David Bailey
In pick 28 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60 Rnd2 Germie Bernard
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Germie Bernard. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick92 Rnd3 Cayden Green
Cayden Green in the 92nd overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The roster fit checks out.
Pick123 Rnd4 Tacario Davis
By-the-book stuff, Tacario Davis at Round 4, Pick 23 squarely in line with his ranking. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick128 Rnd4 Jalon Kilgore
A tidy bit of business in the Round 4 slot, where Jalon Kilgore graded well above the range. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick168 Rnd5 Lander Barton
They reached into another round for Lander Barton, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick195 Rnd6 Jaydn Ott
Jaydn Ott slid further than he should have, and pick No. 195 is lovely value for the running back. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick206 Rnd6 Bryce Foster
A real head-scratcher, Bryce Foster in the 206th pick is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick216 Rnd7 Desmond Reid
They left a pile of value on the table to take Desmond Reid this early at the 216th overall pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick242 Rnd7 Miller Moss
Miller Moss at pick 242 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
