Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesB FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Cowboys, and a B to prove it.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Cowboys did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to wide receiver, which was the need that mattered most. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

Getting Love where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The Clark pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the Round 1 slot they get a three-down second-level presence at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick20 Rnd1 Jeremiyah Love
In the 20th overall pick they get a lead back with juice, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick49 Rnd2 Anthony Hill Jr.
They let Anthony Hill Jr. come to them and pounced at pick 49. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick112 Rnd4 Caden Curry
Caden Curry at the 112th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick150 Rnd5 Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson in No. 150 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick177 Rnd5 Bud Clark
Bud Clark at slot 177 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick215 Rnd6 Cole Payton
The board had Cole Payton higher than Round 6, Pick 36, and the quarterback fell to them anyway. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick221 Rnd7 Fernando Carmona
A straight-up fair deal on Fernando Carmona at pick No. 221, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick225 Rnd7 Dijon Johnson
No edge and no loss on Dijon Johnson in pick 225; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
