Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Seahawks: B-.

Somehow the biggest item on the list survived the weekend. The Seahawks never addressed quarterback, and it is the kind of gap that lingers. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

If Bell pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They banked enough surplus on Speights to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Nate Wiggins
In No. 16 they get an island corner. More want than need.
Pick78 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
They took Cooper Beebe at par in Round 3, Pick 14, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick90 Rnd3 Gabriel Murphy
By-the-book stuff, Gabriel Murphy at the 90th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick118 Rnd4 Beau Brade
No drama and no debate, Beau Brade went about where he belonged in pick 118. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick123 Rnd4 Jaheim Bell
Jaheim Bell at the Round 4 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick154 Rnd5 Justin Rogers
Justin Rogers at pick No. 154 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The roster fit checks out.
Pick163 Rnd5 Sincere Haynesworth
Sincere Haynesworth at the 163rd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick194 Rnd6 Theo Wease Jr.
Theo Wease Jr. in slot 194 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick236 Rnd7 Omar Speights
The board had Omar Speights higher than the 236th pick, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
