Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Titans, and a B to prove it. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Titans did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to running back, which was the need that mattered most.
Watson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Offensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Joe Alt
A tidy little value on Joe Alt in Round 1, Pick 7, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick38
Rnd2
Xavier Legette
Xavier Legette in No. 38 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick106
Rnd4
Khyree Jackson
They paid sticker price for Khyree Jackson in the 106th pick, and that is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick144
Rnd5
Javion Cohen
No edge and no loss on Javion Cohen in pick No. 144; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick184
Rnd6
Eric Watts
They took Eric Watts at par in the 184th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick228
Rnd7
Nathaniel Watson
The board had cheaper options than Nathaniel Watson at slot 228, and it noticed. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
