Draft Grade — Cowboys

The Cowboys let Henderson fall into their laps, and walked away with a D. The rest of the league had time to spare on Antwaun Powell-Ryland; the Cowboys did not wait, grabbing him 74 spots ahead at Round 3, Pick 9.
The Henderson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, cornerback very much included.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Tre Harris
In the 11th overall pick they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick42
Rnd2
DJ Campbell
By-the-book stuff, DJ Campbell at the 42nd pick squarely in line with his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick71
Rnd3
Kenneth Grant
Nothing to complain about; Kenneth Grant went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick73
Rnd3
Antwaun Powell-Ryland
They left a pile of value on the table to take Antwaun Powell-Ryland this early at the Round 3 slot. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick107
Rnd4
Blake Miller
This one needs a full-page explanation: Blake Miller in pick No. 107, miles early. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick113
Rnd4
Brady Cook
They reached into another round for Brady Cook, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick149
Rnd5
Nicholas Singleton
Steal is underselling it; Nicholas Singleton at the 149th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick169
Rnd5
Danny Stutsman
The board fumbled Danny Stutsman all the way to pick 169, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick170
Rnd5
Antwane Wells Jr.
Antwane Wells Jr. in the Round 5 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick171
Rnd5
TreVeyon Henderson
They robbed the room for TreVeyon Henderson here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick186
Rnd6
Xavier Nwankpa
A tidy little value on Xavier Nwankpa in Round 6, Pick 11, a step better than break-even. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick209
Rnd6
Taylen Green
They talked themselves into Taylen Green at No. 209, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
