The board owed the Commanders one, and it paid up: Joe Royer, the No. 69 name on the board, sitting there at the 111th overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep.

Reaching for Owens II left real value on the table behind him. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Spending an early pick on linebacker with quarterback and interior defensive lineman open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
