The Cowboys clearly saw something nobody else did in Jaylon Carlies, taking him 50 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
