Andras DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
Washington should have been long gone. The Seahawks pounced, and earned a B. Somebody in the 96th overall pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Seahawks sat still while A'Mauri Washington, the No. 61 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They are betting Ioane proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
In No. 32 they get a building block for the line, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick64
Rnd2
Elijah Sarratt
Taking Elijah Sarratt in the Round 2 slot is close to grand larceny; a wide receiver that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick96
Rnd3
A'Mauri Washington
A'Mauri Washington at pick No. 96 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick212
Rnd6
Trinidad Chambliss
Trinidad Chambliss at slot 212 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
