The Cowboys lost the trade table, and the D tells the story.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Cowboys reached some 59 spots for Patrick Payton, and value like that does not grow back.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The Banks pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with tight end still on the board. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want.

Golday at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and tight end is still a hole.
