The Cowboys treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending the Round 5 slot on Patrick Payton a full 63 spots early. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up.

The Haulcy pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at cornerback and tight end. They banked enough surplus on Green to cover a lot of smaller sins.
