A respectable, level-headed haul for the 49ers: B-.

Everything else got attention, and running back got none. That is a strange way for the 49ers to leave a draft. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

In the 23rd pick they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick54 Rnd2 Trevor Goosby
They paid sticker price for Trevor Goosby in No. 54, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick87 Rnd3 Zion Young
Zion Young in slot 87 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick122 Rnd4 DJ McKinney
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on DJ McKinney. It adds depth where they could use a little.

A straight-up fair deal on J.C. Davis at Round 4, Pick 37, value and slot in agreement. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.

Nic Anderson in the 139th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
