Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesC FutureA-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Raiders.

The war room fell hard for Patrick Payton, and it showed at the Round 6 slot: 55 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In pick 21 they get a three-down second-level presence at a price that makes it sweeter.
Pick35 Rnd2 Christen Miller
Nice patience on Christen Miller, who had no business lasting to the 35th overall pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick55 Rnd2 Nyck Harbor
Nyck Harbor in pick No. 55 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick66 Rnd3 Connor Lew
A offensive lineman of that caliber at No. 66 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick104 Rnd4 Domani Jackson
Domani Jackson at Round 4, Pick 4 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick111 Rnd4 Diego Pavia
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Diego Pavia in the 111th pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick155 Rnd5 Kage Casey
No drama and no debate, Kage Casey went about where he belonged in the 155th overall pick. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick173 Rnd5 Davison Igbinosun
They paid sticker price for Davison Igbinosun in pick No. 173, and that is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick181 Rnd6 Patrick Payton
Patrick Payton at the 181st pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick185 Rnd6 Aaron Anderson
They read the board right and Aaron Anderson was the payoff at Round 6, Pick 6. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick219 Rnd7 Quinten Joyner
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Quinten Joyner. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
