Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesC+ FutureB
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B- to prove it.

The Frank Gore Jr. pick is the one that will follow the Packers into the fall. They took him 24 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Cooper DeJean
Cooper DeJean in the Round 1 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick41 Rnd2 Javon Bullard
They paid sticker price for Javon Bullard in pick 41, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick58 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
No edge and no loss on Payton Wilson in pick No. 58; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick88 Rnd3 Max Melton
Nice patience on Max Melton, who had no business lasting to Round 3, Pick 25. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick126 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
No drama and no debate, Ben Sinnott went about where he belonged in slot 126. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick129 Rnd4 Roger Rosengarten
A straight-up fair deal on Roger Rosengarten at No. 129, value and slot in agreement. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick169 Rnd5 Tanor Bortolini
Tanor Bortolini at slot 169 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick202 Rnd6 Frank Gore Jr.
Value said wait; Frank Gore Jr. in Round 6, Pick 27 says they were not listening. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick219 Rnd6 Garret Greenfield
A tidy little value on Garret Greenfield in pick 219, a step better than break-even. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick232 Rnd7 Jordan Magee
Jordan Magee at pick No. 232 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick245 Rnd7 Trevin Wallace
A slide stopped in No. 245, with Trevin Wallace worth more than the price. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick255 Rnd7 Austin Reed
They reached a country mile for Austin Reed at the 255th overall pick, and the board is aghast. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
