Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
Dart is the Rams' new face under center. Grade: B-.

The Rams looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Kain Medrano at slot 257 regardless, 80 picks early. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

They have staked the next five years on Jaxson Dart, which is the only story that really matters here. For all the activity, safety went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Grant value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Jaxson Dart
In the 26th pick they get the face of the franchise, though they paid up to get him.
Pick90 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
The board had Barrett Carter higher than pick 90, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick101 Rnd3 Charles Grant
Nice patience on Charles Grant, who had no business lasting to the Round 3 slot. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick130 Rnd4 Cobee Bryant
A clean, defensible pick in Round 4, Pick 28 with a little surplus value in Cobee Bryant. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick190 Rnd6 Thomas Fidone II
A reach on Thomas Fidone II in No. 190; the board had better options right there. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick195 Rnd6 Isaac TeSlaa
Isaac TeSlaa at pick No. 195 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick196 Rnd6 Jason Marshall Jr.
They jumped the gun on Jason Marshall Jr., taking him earlier than his grade liked. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Pick202 Rnd6 Caleb Rogers
Caleb Rogers in slot 202 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick257 Rnd7 Kain Medrano
They left a pile of value on the table to take Kain Medrano this early at No. 257. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
