Draft Grade — Cowboys

FutureA
The Cowboys got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D+. Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Cowboys, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Put together, it is a D+.
The Cowboys indulged a want in Kilgore while a need in cornerback, tight end and other spots stayed open. They are betting Roberts proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. However the rest shakes out, Beck at that price is a win they earned.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
Pick Analysis
Pick24
Rnd1
Isaiah World
In Round 1, Pick 24 they get a cornerstone up front, though the board says they badly overpaid. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick31
Rnd1
Caleb Banks
In the 31st pick they get a problem off the edge. More want than need.
Pick48
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
A premium they did not need to pay, Dillon Thieneman a notch or two before his time. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick77
Rnd3
Carson Beck
Carson Beck at the Round 3 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick95
Rnd3
Nicholas Singleton
Nothing to complain about; Nicholas Singleton went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick114
Rnd4
Jalon Kilgore
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went safety with Jalon Kilgore while clear needs at cornerback, tight end and other spots sat open.
Pick116
Rnd4
Chase Roberts
They reached into another round for Chase Roberts, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick152
Rnd5
Jacob Rodriguez
Jacob Rodriguez in the 152nd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick177
Rnd5
Le'Veon Moss
A straight-up fair deal on Le'Veon Moss at the Round 5 slot, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
Pick182
Rnd5
Taylen Green
Taylen Green slid further than he should have, and No. 182 is lovely value for the quarterback. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
