The Jaguars kept it disciplined and banked a B.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Jaguars walked out of the weekend still thin at linebacker, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

They banked enough surplus on Nwankpa to cover a lot of smaller sins. The cost of the Alexander reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

In pick No. 3 they get protection for the quarterback. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Isaiah Bond
Isaiah Bond slid further than he should have, and the Round 2 slot is lovely value for the wide receiver. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.

They let Shavon Revel Jr. come to them and pounced at the 65th overall pick. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.

Quietly one of the better values of the day, Ollie Gordon II at pick 96. A need, and now a little less of one.

Shemar Stewart at No. 105 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.

Bear Alexander in Round 4, Pick 32 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

Phil Mafah in slot 141 is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.

Xavier Nwankpa slipping to the 177th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It fills a real need, too.
