Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Vikings and Haulcy: B-. When a board-topper like A.J. Haulcy slides to the 97th overall pick, you do not overthink it, and the Vikings did not.
Singleton has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The roster is better shaped than it was, with safety chief among the fixes.
The back end got a real overhaul.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick11
Rnd1
Jermod McCoy
In No. 11 they get a press-man option on the boundary. Need was not the driver here.
Pick43
Rnd2
Anthony Hill Jr.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Anthony Hill Jr. in pick 43. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick75
Rnd3
Nicholas Singleton
Nicholas Singleton at the Round 3 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick97
Rnd3
A.J. Haulcy
A top-tier safety at a bargain, A.J. Haulcy in pick No. 97, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
