Draft Grade — Lions

The Lions did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Lions did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to edge rusher, which was the need that mattered most. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The Little Jr. pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
Avieon Terrell
In pick No. 17 they get a lockdown presence outside. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50
Rnd2
Trevor Goosby
No edge and no loss on Trevor Goosby in slot 50; it is a wash and a sensible one. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick118
Rnd4
Earl Little Jr.
Earl Little Jr. in the 118th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick135
Rnd4
Parker Brailsford
A straight-up fair deal on Parker Brailsford at Round 4, Pick 35, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
