Draft Grade — Jets

More right than wrong for the Jets, and a B- to prove it. Every other box got a look, but cornerback did not. The Jets will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with.
Every board in the league had Mateer lower, and that gap is the story. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
Good work on the whole, with cornerback the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Spencer Fano
In pick 7 they get a building block for the line at fair value.
Pick18
Rnd1
Makai Lemon
In slot 18 they get a weapon on the perimeter at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38
Rnd2
John Mateer
John Mateer in No. 38 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick47
Rnd2
CJ Allen
CJ Allen in pick No. 47 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick104
Rnd4
Brendan Sorsby
A straight-up fair deal on Brendan Sorsby at the 104th pick, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
