mxrius DRAFTING FOR THEBears
Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B-
ValueC
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Bears kept it disciplined and banked a B-. Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Bears spent No. 56 on Gabe Jacas, a name the board had a full 47 spots lower.
On value alone, McNeil-Warren makes the weekend a net positive. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Cashius Howell
Cashius Howell at No. 23 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick56
Rnd2
Gabe Jacas
They reached into another round for Gabe Jacas, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick87
Rnd3
Brian Parker II
By-the-book stuff, Brian Parker II at the 87th pick squarely in line with his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick131
Rnd4
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at Round 4, Pick 31 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
