The Cowboys did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

The curious call sets the tone. With tight end still glaring, the Cowboys used the 84th overall pick on Zakee Wheatley, a safety they were not exactly short of. Good, not great, and the B says as much.

The cost of the World reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Burks.

The Cowboys clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
