Grand theft in pick 228: the Bills steal Boettcher and grade out a B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bills were there to profit. Bryce Boettcher, the No. 181 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 228th overall pick. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The cost of the Bell reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Linebacker was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Taking Austin Siereveld in No. 121 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
