Draft Grade — Texans
Overall

FutureB-
The Texans let Love fall and pounced. Final grade: B-. Somebody in No. 38 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Texans sat still while Jeremiyah Love, the No. 7 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They will need Lew to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick28
Rnd1
Connor Lew
In pick No. 28 they get protection for the quarterback, though the board says they badly overpaid. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick38
Rnd2
Jeremiyah Love
Steal is underselling it; Jeremiyah Love at slot 38 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick59
Rnd2
Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers at the 59th pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
