Draft Grade — Packers

FutureB-
Jones should have been long gone. The Packers pounced, and earned a B-. Somebody in the 168th pick was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Packers sat still while Jarrian Jones, the No. 148 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up. Fiske has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Chop Robinson
In No. 25 they get a disruptor off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41
Rnd2
Edgerrin Cooper
They paid sticker price for Edgerrin Cooper in Round 2, Pick 9, and that is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick58
Rnd2
Braden Fiske
Braden Fiske in slot 58 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick88
Rnd3
Max Melton
By-the-book stuff, Max Melton at the Round 3 slot squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick91
Rnd3
Trey Benson
They took Trey Benson at par in pick No. 91, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick127
Rnd4
Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott at the 127th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The roster fit checks out.
Pick168
Rnd5
Jarrian Jones
Jarrian Jones at pick 168 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick204
Rnd6
Myles Harden
Myles Harden at the 204th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick216
Rnd6
Garret Greenfield
Garret Greenfield in pick No. 216 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick243
Rnd7
LaDarius Henderson
LaDarius Henderson in slot 243 is fair value, right on his grade. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick251
Rnd7
Jawhar Jordan
They liked Jawhar Jordan enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 251. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
