Draft Grade — Texans
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Texans robbed the room for Sabb. Final grade: B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Keon Sabb had no business being available in the Round 4 slot, and the Texans did the only sane thing and turned in the card. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Reaching for Parker II left real value on the table behind him.

Running back was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Jeremiyah Love
In slot 18 they get a bell-cow for the offense, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick37 Rnd2 Kayden McDonald
Kayden McDonald in the 37th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick49 Rnd2 Austin Barber
The board had cheaper options than Austin Barber at the Round 2 slot, and it noticed. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick68 Rnd3 Brian Parker II
This one needs a full-page explanation: Brian Parker II in pick 68, miles early. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick107 Rnd4 Whit Weeks
Whit Weeks in No. 107 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick117 Rnd4 Keon Sabb
Steal is underselling it; Keon Sabb at Round 4, Pick 17 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick158 Rnd5 Eric Rivers
A quiet steal in the 158th pick: Eric Rivers for less than the market said. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick233 Rnd7 Jerry Wilson
Jerry Wilson in pick No. 233 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick239 Rnd7 Jamal Haynes
They liked Jamal Haynes enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 239. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
