The Bears left with their quarterback, and a B to match.

Start where it matters. The Bears took Drake Maye to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

Reaching for Lee left real value on the table behind him. It is not that Brade is a bad player; it is that the Bears had louder needs to answer first.

That linebacker hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Getting Melton where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
