Draft Grade — Browns
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB-
TradesB-
FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Browns: B-. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Browns did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to edge rusher, which was the need that mattered most. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
However the rest shakes out, Slaughter at that price is a win they earned. Every board in the league had Lance lower, and that gap is the story.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick6
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In the Round 1 slot they get a green-dot type in the middle at fair value.
Pick24
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq in slot 24 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
Pick39
Rnd2
Emmanuel Pregnon
No drama and no debate, Emmanuel Pregnon went about where he belonged in pick No. 39. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick70
Rnd3
Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter slipping to pick 70 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick107
Rnd4
Bryce Lance
A conviction pick on Bryce Lance at Round 4, Pick 7 that the board grades a round light. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick139
Rnd5
Isaiah World
They took Isaiah World at par in the 139th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick144
Rnd5
DeMonte Capehart
No edge and no loss on DeMonte Capehart in No. 144; it is a wash and a sensible one. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick147
Rnd5
Drew Allar
Drew Allar at the 147th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick204
Rnd6
Toriano Pride Jr.
A straight-up fair deal on Toriano Pride Jr. at Round 6, Pick 25, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick248
Rnd7
Nolan Rucci
They jumped the gun on Nolan Rucci, taking him earlier than his grade liked. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
