The Bears won the weekend at the trade table. Grade: A-. When the story of this class is written, it opens with Jared Wiley at the 134th overall pick, a reach of 71 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. They executed a plan and it shows in the A-.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The Wiley pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman, cornerback and other spots still on the board.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. The Bears paired the rookies with proven help, Chase Young leading the way.
Trust the process, because this time the process plainly worked.
