The steal of the weekend belongs to the Broncos and Ward: B.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Broncos were there to profit. Cam Ward, the No. 6 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 210th overall pick. The bottom line is a respectable B.

Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with linebacker chief among the fixes.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Cam Skattebo at pick No. 193 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.

Taking Jahdae Barron in the 199th pick is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
