They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Ty Simpson is the Saints' quarterback, full stop.

The cornerback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. However the rest shakes out, Burks at that price is a win they earned. Reaching for Dennis-Sutton left real value on the table behind him.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with edge rusher chief among the fixes.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
