Draft Grade — Rams

The phones sank the Rams this weekend: D. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Rams took Haynes King at Round 7, Pick 35, roughly 57 spots before his name belonged. It grades a D, and the process earned it.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
However the rest shakes out, Stribling at that price is a win they earned. Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In the 18th pick they get an every-down engine for the run game, outstanding value to boot. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick28
Rnd1
Kenyon Sadiq
In pick No. 28 they get a mismatch in the passing game, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick38
Rnd2
Max Iheanachor
A reach on Max Iheanachor in pick 38; the board had better options right there. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick49
Rnd2
Anthony Hill Jr.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Anthony Hill Jr. in Round 2, Pick 17. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick61
Rnd2
Keith Abney II
Steal is underselling it; Keith Abney II at No. 61 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick132
Rnd4
De'Zhaun Stribling
De'Zhaun Stribling at the Round 4 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick136
Rnd4
Parker Brailsford
Good price on Parker Brailsford in pick 136, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick163
Rnd5
Louis Moore
No edge and no loss on Louis Moore in the Round 5 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick196
Rnd6
Toriano Pride Jr.
They paid up for Toriano Pride Jr. at slot 196 when waiting would have done the job. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick207
Rnd6
Zavion Thomas
A reach for Zavion Thomas in the 207th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick251
Rnd7
Haynes King
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Haynes King. The roster fit checks out.
