Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Packers kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

Somebody in slot 200 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Packers sat still while Ollie Gordon II, the No. 164 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

The cost of the Jones Jr. reach is exactly the players who went right after him. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Shavon Revel Jr.
In pick No. 23 they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick54 Rnd2 Tate Ratledge
They liked Tate Ratledge enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 2, Pick 22. The roster fit checks out.
Pick87 Rnd3 Emery Jones Jr.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Emery Jones Jr. well ahead of where he belonged. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick123 Rnd4 Hollin Pierce
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Hollin Pierce in Round 4, Pick 22. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick160 Rnd5 Kobe King
A linebacker of that caliber at the 160th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick200 Rnd6 Ollie Gordon II
Steal is underselling it; Ollie Gordon II at pick 200 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick239 Rnd7 Jaylin Smith
A conviction pick on Jaylin Smith at pick No. 239 that the board grades a round light. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick251 Rnd7 Nick Martin
Nick Martin in the 251st pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
