Draft Grade — Bears

FutureB-
Grand theft in the Round 4 slot: the Bears steal Warren and grade out a B+. Somebody in No. 116 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Bears sat still while Tyler Warren, the No. 58 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
They will need Carter to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick15
Rnd1
Will Campbell
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get a long-term starter on the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
Kenneth Grant
By-the-book stuff, Kenneth Grant at pick No. 39 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick42
Rnd2
Landon Jackson
A straight-up fair deal on Landon Jackson at the 42nd overall pick, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick73
Rnd3
Tyler Booker
Somehow Tyler Booker was still sitting there in No. 73, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick116
Rnd4
Tyler Warren
You do not let a tight end like Tyler Warren reach the 116th pick and blink. They did not. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick148
Rnd5
Barrett Carter
This one needs a full-page explanation: Barrett Carter in pick 148, miles early. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick191
Rnd6
Donovan Jackson
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Donovan Jackson at slot 191. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick203
Rnd6
Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster slid further than he should have, and the Round 6 slot is lovely value for the offensive lineman. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick226
Rnd7
Kevin Winston Jr.
Circle this one: Kevin Winston Jr. at No. 226 is a fall that decides a draft. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick244
Rnd7
Donovan Edwards
Steal is underselling it; Donovan Edwards at the 244th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
