Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B-
ValueC NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
A franchise passer in Mestemaker headlines a B- weekend for the Dolphins.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Dolphins committed. Drew Mestemaker is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

The Johnson pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. If Mestemaker pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Drew Mestemaker
In the 3rd pick they get the face of the franchise, a steep price for the projection. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34 Rnd2 Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa
Somehow Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa was still sitting there in the 34th overall pick, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. It fills a real need, too.
Pick65 Rnd3 Kade Pieper
Steal is underselling it; Kade Pieper at pick 65 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick105 Rnd4 Greg Johnson
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Greg Johnson in No. 105, plain and simple. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick139 Rnd5 Brandon Inniss
Brandon Inniss at the Round 5 slot is a conviction pick that outran the value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick153 Rnd5 A.J. Harris
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on A.J. Harris. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick181 Rnd6 Mateen Ibirogba
Nice patience on Mateen Ibirogba, who had no business lasting to pick No. 181. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick247 Rnd7 Jaden Platt
A tidy little value on Jaden Platt in slot 247, a step better than break-even. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick255 Rnd7 Christian Alliegro
They did well to land Christian Alliegro in the 255th pick, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
