MCR75 DRAFTING FOR THEBears

Draft Grade — Bears
Overall
B
ValueC+
NeedB-
TradesB
FutureA-
The Bears checked most of the boxes and earned a B. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Gabe Hall at No. 146 is 54 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. The bottom line is a respectable B.
They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Brock Bowers
In pick 5 they get a red-zone target to build around. More want than need.
Pick9
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In slot 9 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick34
Rnd2
Chop Robinson
They took Chop Robinson at par in the 34th pick, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick35
Rnd2
Jackson Powers-Johnson
They paid up for Jackson Powers-Johnson at the 35th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick69
Rnd3
Cooper Beebe
They went early on Cooper Beebe in the Round 3 slot, and the value did not follow. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick75
Rnd3
Brenden Rice
Good price on Brenden Rice in Round 3, Pick 11, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It fills a real need, too.
Pick103
Rnd4
Jaden Hicks
Jaden Hicks at pick No. 103 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick110
Rnd4
Darius Robinson
Darius Robinson in the 110th pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick122
Rnd4
Braelon Allen
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Braelon Allen. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick146
Rnd5
Gabe Hall
A wild overpay on Gabe Hall in No. 146, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
