Draft Grade — Browns
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
Nobody dealt better than the Browns this weekend: A-.

The Browns torched the value chart for Sai'vion Jones, taking him 38 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. Very little went wrong, and the A- is earned.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. However the rest shakes out, Hampton at that price is a win they earned.

The Browns clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Bottom line, they did the job about as well as it can be done.

Pick Analysis
Pick33 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Nick Emmanwori at pick 33 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick57 Rnd2 Omarion Hampton
Omarion Hampton at the 57th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick67 Rnd3 Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter at No. 67 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick74 Rnd3 Deone Walker
They paid up for Deone Walker at slot 74 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick94 Rnd3 Will Howard
They paid sticker price for Will Howard in pick No. 94, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick104 Rnd4 Sai'vion Jones
They reached a country mile for Sai'vion Jones at the Round 4 slot, and the board is aghast. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick179 Rnd6 Tommi Hill
They robbed the room for Tommi Hill here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick192 Rnd6 CJ West
CJ West at No. 192 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. The roster fit checks out.
Pick200 Rnd6 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey at slot 200 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick216 Rnd6 Ricky White III
No drama and no debate, Ricky White III went about where he belonged in pick No. 216. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick255 Rnd7 Hayden Conner
Hayden Conner in Round 7, Pick 39 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
