Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesD+ FutureA
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Browns and Klubnik: B.

When a board-topper like Cade Klubnik slides to the Round 4 slot, you do not overthink it, and the Browns did not.

They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Green has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick24 Rnd1 Makai Lemon
In slot 24 they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick28 Rnd1 Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq at the 28th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the tight end. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick39 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
The board had cheaper options than Emmanuel Pregnon at pick No. 39, and it noticed. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick56 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
The board had Jake Slaughter higher than the Round 2 slot, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick70 Rnd3 Cayden Green
Cayden Green at No. 70 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick88 Rnd3 Zakee Wheatley
Zakee Wheatley at the 88th overall pick is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. The roster fit checks out.
Pick107 Rnd4 Jake Golday
Steal is underselling it; Jake Golday at Round 4, Pick 7 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick124 Rnd4 Cade Klubnik
Cade Klubnik at pick 124 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick139 Rnd5 DJ McKinney
DJ McKinney slid further than he should have, and pick 139 is lovely value for the cornerback. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick144 Rnd5 Blake Miller
Blake Miller at the Round 5 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick147 Rnd5 Chase Roberts
Chase Roberts in No. 147 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick206 Rnd6 Eric McAlister
They did well to land Eric McAlister in the 206th pick, just ahead of his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick248 Rnd7 Daevin Hobbs
A conviction pick on Daevin Hobbs at pick No. 248 that the board grades a round light. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
